The Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) explicitly states: "We will improve a diversified and resilient international transport corridor system and promote connectivity of cross-border transport infrastructure." "We will provide targeted and category-based support for the development of border areas and take coordinated steps to defend and stabilize borders, develop border areas and enrich local residents, strengthen border areas and consolidate border defense, and advance border opening-up."

On October 25, a China-Laos Railway "Fuxing" international passenger train traveling from Vientiane to Kunming passed through the Friendship Tunnel and was about to enter Mohan Station.

As a landmark project of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, the China-Laos Railway has handled more than 80 million passenger trips in the nearly five years since its full opening to traffic. More than 25,000 international freight trains have been operated, carrying over 20.77 million tonnes of import and export goods worth more than RMB 100.4 billion. Mohan Station, a gateway railway port hub, has continued to release corridor dividends: international passengers clear customs in an orderly manner, cross-border EMU trains shuttle to and fro, and joint inspection at the port operates efficiently. The railway brings flows of people, goods, and information, radiates benefits to surrounding villages, and spurs the building of a new port city. A border-opening-up picture featuring a thriving corridor, a prosperous port, beautiful villages, and well-off residents is unfolding.

During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, this golden corridor will continue to empower China-Laos economic and trade exchanges and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, writing new stories of cross-border cooperation.

Since the China-Laos Railway opened to traffic, its population agglomeration effect has gradually emerged. At the farmers' market in Shangyong Town near Mohan Station, vendor He Bin's fruit and vegetable business is thriving.

作为高质量共建 “一带一路” 标志性工程，中老铁路全线开通运营近五年来，累计发送旅客突破8000万人次，国际货运列车开行超2.5万列、进出口货物超2077万吨、货值超1004亿元。磨憨站这座国门铁路口岸枢纽也不断释放通道红利：国际旅客有序通关、跨境动车穿梭往来、口岸联检高效运转；铁路带来人流、物流、信息流，辐射带动周边村寨发展，催生口岸新城建设。一幅通道兴、口岸旺、乡村美、百姓富的沿边开放画卷正在徐徐铺展。

“十五五”时期，这条黄金通道还将持续赋能中老经贸往来与人文交流，书写跨境合作新故事。
