From July 17th to 23rd, the 8th Nie Er Music Week is set to grandly kick off in Kunming! This year's theme, "Resonating with Endeavor: Composing the Era's Symphony," will feature nearly 20 exciting events in Kunming's venue, spanning musical performances, flash mobs, intangible cultural heritage experiences, art exhibitions, and more – immersing you in the spirit of Nie Er and the vibrant culture of the Spring City.

On July 18th at 19:00, the Organizing Committee of the 8th Nie Er Music Week will host a "Following Nie Er's Footsteps: A Tour of Kunming" themed route recommendation and the launch of the 8th Nie Er Music Week Kunming Cultural and Tourism Hand-Drawn Map at the Ma Family Courtyard in Kunming Old Street. At the event, "Big Mouth" Yue Li, a Kunming historian and cultural storyteller, will guide you through the stories of Nie Er and Kunming, introducing two Nie Er-themed cultural and tourism routes. The 8th Nie Er Music Week Kunming hand-drawn map will also be unveiled!  Plus, don't miss out on these special giveaways:

Nie Er and Kunming: A City, A Musical Legend

As the hometown of Nie Er, Kunming, with its melodies and musical traditions found in the Old Street and Cuihu Park, shaped Nie Er's musical journey. The scenic beauty of the Xishan Mountain and Dianchi Lake provided inspiration for his compositions.

Kunming boasts a rich history and numerous historical sites. During his time in Kunming, Nie Er frequently visited Cuihu Park and also left his mark on places like Yuantong Mountain, Tanhua Temple, Black Dragon Pool, Jindian, and Anning Hot Springs. Today, Nie Er's former residence in Kunming Old Street, his tomb and memorial hall in the Xishan Mountain Scenic Area, remain important locations for understanding his life, musical achievements, and in appreciating and carrying on the Nie Er spirit.

Two Themed Routes: Retracing Nie Er's Kunming Journey

Route 1:

Kunming Old Street Nie Er Former Residence → Daguan Pavilion → Dianchi Lake Greenway (Caohai Section) → Haigeng Dam → Xishan Mountain Scenic Area

Kunming Old Street: Explore Nie Er's former residence, stroll through the Memorial Hall of the Victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and savor the atmosphere of old Kunming.

Daguan Pavilion: Admire the "Number One Long Couplet in the World," take a boat trip on Dianchi Lake, and enjoy the views of the Sleeping Beauty Mountain.

Yuyuan Garden: Appreciate the garden's blend of Chinese and Western architectural styles, and view the picturesque Dianchi Lake.

Dianchi Lake Greenway (Caohai Section): Cycle or walk along the greenway and experience Dianchi Lake's ecological beauty.

Dianchi Cableway: Soar high above Dianchi Lake, admire the water below, and view the grand landscape of the Xishan Mountain.

Xishan Mountain Scenic Area: Visit Nie Er's tomb, climb the Dragon Gate for panoramic views of Dianchi Lake, and sample delicious food at the Tea Horse Flower Street.

Kunming Old Street Nie Er Former Residence →Cuihu Park → Yuantong Mountain / Tanhua Temple → Black Dragon Pool Garden / Jindian Scenic Area

聂耳与昆明：一座城，一段音乐传奇

云南昆明作为聂耳的故乡，昆明老街、翠湖公园的小调与乐声，引导聂耳走上音乐之路。西山、滇池的山水风光，为聂耳的创作注入灵感。
